Locking Mailbox Inserts

No lockboxes are post office approved. Not ours and not anyone elses. However, there are thousands in use across the country. How can that be?

Like other mailbox accessories, they do not receive universal postal approval. The use of any mailbox lockbox is done so with the approval of your local post office
.

All lockboxes get inserted into various Post Office approved mailboxes. Over the past few years, lockboxes have become very common and only in a rare occassion does the Post Office have a problem with them. In areas where mail theft is a growing problem, most local Postmasters have found them to be an acceptable inexpensive remedy to a growing problem.

The main concern with all lockboxes is the size of the mail slot. Our medium size lockbox is very convenient for mail delivery and mail retrieval.

If you have any concerns, it's best to speak with your local letter carrier or Postmaster, especially if you are representing a housing development.  Most local Postmasters require their approval for any large-scale change to existing mailboxes.  We also think Home Owner Associations (and other large volume purchasers) should first speak with our dealer about buying a sample unit for inspection.
