Installing a Locking Mailbox Insert

Standard locking mailbox inserts are designed to fit tightly into rural style mailboxes.

Here are the simple installation instructions for the locking mailbox insert.

If you look at the photos in the gallery, you'll see that the door hinge assembly of the locking mailbox insert has a predrilled hole.

With the locking mailbox insert placed upright (access door on top), measure the distance of that hole from the bottom of the locking mailbox insert. Now transfer that measurement to the underside of your mailbox floor and make a mark. Be sure to center your mark.

Drill the hole in the mailbox floor. Then use the bolt and lock-nut we provide to secure the lockbox to the mailbox floor. The lock-nut cannot be loosened from the underside and will prevent the removal of the insert.
