| How to install a Swedish Mailboxes?
The mailbox has three holes in the back panel. It is through those holes that the mailbox gets attached to the wall. Those holes are easily reached with a short or "stubby" screwdriver.
The top of the mailbox needs to be spaced approx. 3/4" away from the wall. All mailboxes with lids that overlap the body on all four sides require this extra spacing at the top for the lid to function properly.
Usually people do one of two types of installation.
Option # 1: You first mount either a 3/4" board or strip of wood against the house. The board should be large enough to encompasses all three holes on the back panel of the mailbox, but small enough to be concealed. Then screw the mailbox into the board.
Option # 2: Mark the location of the three holes on the house wall. Predrill the holes. Stack 3/4" of washers (a large nut also works). Run the mounting screws from the inside of the mailbox, through the washers/spacers into the house.
